Not yet approved. Open technical details are marked[AUSFÜLLEN]("to be filled in") and must be completed by the orchestrator (deploy, Matomo, Listmonk setup) before publication, then given final sign-off by the operator. Hosting and server log files
studyinthe.eu is a statically served website that runs on Panomity GmbH's own server, located in Germany — not with an external hosting or cloud provider. When you visit the site, the server automatically records standard technical information in server log files: IP address, browser type, operating system, page requested, and time of access. This data is used solely to keep the site secure and running reliably (a legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), is deleted automatically after a short period, and is not cross-referenced with other data sources.
Anonymous usage statistics (Matomo)
studyinthe.eu uses Matomo, a self-hosted, cookieless analytics tool, to see how many people visit which pages — run by us at statsdeluxe.com/statistics/ (site ID [AUSFÜLLEN]), on our own server in Germany, not by a third-party analytics company. It is configured without cookies, anonymizes IP addresses before anything is stored, and honors your browser's Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals: if either is set, Matomo does not record the visit at all. Because it is cookieless and IP-anonymized, no cookie-consent banner is required for this specific setup. For this specific Matomo setup, personal data is not passed on to third parties; this statement is limited to Matomo and does not apply to other services such as Google AdSense. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding which guides and topics are actually used.
Google AdSense advertising [FREIGABE NÖTIG]
Google AdSense may be used to display advertising. In this context, Google Ireland Limited is a recipient and, depending on the processing, a controller or joint controller within the Google group; other Google group companies may also process data. AdSense may read or set cookies and use advertising IDs or comparable online identifiers, including IP address, browser and device information, and information about ad interactions. This processing can include transfers to recipients in countries outside the EU/EEA. For visitors in the EU/EEA, personalised AdSense advertising will be delivered only after prior consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and applicable ePrivacy rules); no personalised ads may be served before that consent. The CMP for obtaining and recording consent, including its Google-certified configuration, has not yet been selected [FREIGABE NÖTIG]. The AdSense loader has been implemented at the operator's explicit instruction. The CMP decision remains open; until a CMP is selected and its Google-certified configuration is in place, personalised AdSense advertising must not be delivered to EU/EEA visitors, and it may only be delivered after their prior consent.
Display: light/dark mode
If you manually switch between light and dark display mode, your browser stores that choice locally under the key studyinthe-theme. This entry contains no identifier, is never transmitted to our servers or anyone else, and stays only in the browser you used until you clear it. It is not a cookie in the technical sense, and no consent is required for it.
Newsletter sign-up (Listmonk, double opt-in)
When you sign up for the newsletter, we process the email address you enter through our self-hosted Listmonk instance ([AUSFÜLLEN: instance/endpoint address and list identifier]). Sign-up uses double opt-in: after you submit the form, the address you entered receives a confirmation email; only after you click the confirmation link in that email is the address added to the mailing list. We store the time of sign-up and confirmation, along with the IP address used, as proof of consent. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter issue, or informally by email to the address above. After a revocation, we delete the associated data unless statutory retention obligations require otherwise.
[AUSFÜLLEN: Before publication, confirm whether the Listmonk instance has recipient-level open and click tracking enabled for newsletter issues (tracking pixel/link redirection). If so, this section must be expanded to describe it, including legal basis and retention periods, before the page goes live.]
Linked external sources
Our guides link to official external sources (e.g. EU portals, embassies, universities, ministries). Following such a link takes you away from studyinthe.eu; the operator of that destination site is solely responsible for any data processing that happens there, under its own privacy policy. Simply placing the link does not transmit any personal data to the linked site.
Transfers to third countries
The server log files, Matomo statistics and newsletter sign-up data described above are processed on Panomity GmbH's own infrastructure in Germany. This no-third-country-transfer statement applies only to those self-hosted operations; it does not cover Google AdSense or other third-party services. As described in the Google AdSense section, AdSense may involve transfers outside the EU/EEA; an applicable GDPR transfer mechanism and the required disclosures and consent must be confirmed before activation.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you generally have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection (Art. 21) regarding your personal data. Requests can be sent to the email address above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular the one responsible for our registered office:
Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA)

Which version applies
This English page summarizes the same facts as the German-language Datenschutzerklärung. For matters of German law, that German version is the legally binding text; this page is provided for convenience.
Changes
This privacy policy will be updated if and when our data processing changes.
Last updated: August 2026 (draft). Will be finally dated on operator sign-off.
