Sources

Illustration for the Sources page of studyinthe.eu: archive shelves with labelled reference binders.

Every country and topic guide on studyinthe.eu has a source register. Citation markers in the text and data boxes link to numbered footnotes; each footnote names the publisher, links to the original page and shows when we accessed it. The Last reviewed date records our editorial check, not a guarantee that the external page has stayed unchanged. For a concrete example, open the Germany guide's source footnotes.

Method and scope

Our source method gives priority to primary material: national ministries and immigration authorities, public universities, statutory portals and EU institutions. Examples include the European Commission's Study in Europe country portal, Your Europe admission guidance, and the ENIC-NARIC network's country contacts for qualification recognition. We use secondary material only to orient readers when an official source does not publish a comparable summary.

Numbers keep their original scope, currency and date. A university fee, city estimate or pilot scheme is labelled as an example rather than silently generalized. We do not fill gaps with estimates. Rules and deadlines can change; check the linked institution or authority before applying, paying fees or travelling.

Editorial practice

The source register is evidence for the page, not legal advice. If a link is unavailable, the publisher's current page remains authoritative. This method page explains our scope; the linked original sources are the right next step for a decision.
